Ya I saw that and it's a disappointment that people say one thing then do another. Yet hey, there is more than one whiz in the world perhaps another with the desire to challenge will find the loopholes.
I mean, I figured. I put all my faith in the Dev-team and always follow steps and ask questions if im not 100% after re-reading. So maybe they'll shed some light on us when they get an i4 in hand.

I hope something comes out that will work on the 3gs with the new bootrom.

I think we can all be assured that something will happen, when is another story. It's kinda funny that all these guys/girls who do their best, spend lots of time and patience to sort these issues out for whatever reason they have and yet people seem to want instant gratification me included perhaps I need to take a leaf out of their book.

Well it's not like the Dev Team have stopped working, it's only a matter of time before something is released. Some of the messages they get though, are ridiculous just looking at them, so many people acting like they're entitled to an instant release for a jailbreak, it's a wonder they don't just say "Kiss my @$$ and do it yourself then"

Wasn't the whole reason the new bootrom exploit wasn't used, was to prevent Apple from closing it before the iP4 was being worked on? I think I remember reading that somewhere, in which case more than likely something isn't too far off, but it's still anyones guess really.

I'm wondering when the unlock will be available? I figure it would take awhile longer to have the jailbreak released, especially when most of the apps from cydia needs to be updated to work, but the unlock should be a shorter process right?

I'm in desperate need of being able to use this device while traveling overseas. :(

The unlock may already be available! Ultrasn0w will most likely work on the iPhone 4, but of course it cannot be installed or tested until someone jailbreaks the phone.

There's already a jailbreak out. That ******* made the untethered jailbreak months ago, made a video, and didn't release it and the only thing he would tell people when they asked about it was "Stop asking me for a release date, you're not getting it." Now his stupidass software is obsolete and no one gives a **** because other generous, awesome hackers are able to do the job better without pissing people off.

not exactly he iPhone 4 seems to have a different modem firmware from that of the other phones... it's like version 1 now instead of 5

Every one of your posts is vulgar.

There's a ton of sites out there that says they can unlock the iPhone 4 but they all look like scams to me. I didn't realize that the only way to unlock (as of right now) is to wait for the jailbreak. This sucks! :(

Yes, but MuscleNerd seems to think it will work, and he's now examined the unencrypted baseband file from the 4.0 firmware. I will change it to read "may already be."

Honestly, part of me doesn't blame Geohot. If you read his @reply's on Twitter, he gets hundreds of Tweets per day asking about a new jailbreak or unlock. People were even calling his house asking.
And, when he released blacksn0w, many people were having Wi-Fi issues. He later proved that his program didn't cause the problem, and people still were accusing him, months later. People are so ungrateful, and feel entitled to a jailbreak or unlock, for free. The Dev Team/ Geohot spends hundreds of hours creating these programs, plus they buy their own devices to test on.

There's a difference between not having plans for a jailbreak and having plans not to jailbreak. Geohot wants to get people off his back. I'd be surprised if he doesn't at least share his exploit with someone, like he did with the previous ultrasn0w exploit.

+1

I don't envy him or the dev team. If people were a bit more civilized I'm sure we would get more information from all of them. The second people think they have something all the stupid questions of where, when and how start.
