I'm reminded of an incident when I was in 3rd grade; a fellow student's father was a geologist and brought in a sampling of his rock collection for us. There was one particular piece that he seemed very proud of and passed around the class. When it made its way through the hands of a classroom full of third graders, he told us what it was.
