What's truly sad about this is the cops were already starting to point the finger at the husband. Poor bastard, having to take the lie detector to prove he is innocent for a non-existent crime.
There's that, and the possibility that the next time some bride-to-be comes up missing, people will be less enthusiastic about searching for her because they think she's pulling a stunt like this girl did.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I couldn't believe it was wdlove who posted it...

Sorry, it just caused me to be concerned. Just hope that it doesn't cause problems in the future as mentioned by Lyle. :(

No need to apologize, it was just startling to see you break from your "always really nice" mold. :)

Didn't the cops break protocol here and declare this a missing persons case a lot earlier than they otherwise would have except for the family's insistence that she was not a person who would get cold feet? I thought I heard that in the very beginning of this story...

Yeah, I think it was pretty much immediately. But as I understand it, the husband (and/or his entire family) is pretty politically connected in Atlanta.

Book and Movie deal

Has there been any news on which TV network is going to pay this nitwit a ton of money to get her authorized story so they can turn it into a Movie of the Week? You KNOW this is going to happen.

And book deals, too.

We have not heard the last if Jennifer Wilbanks.

Sounds like he lawyer is setting her up for the fruit basket defense...
Runaway Bride Denies Having Cold Feet
Thursday, May 5, 2005
By DANIEL YEE Associated Press Writer

(AP) - GAINESVILLE, Ga.-Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks apologized Thursday for disappearing just before her wedding day, and insisted cryptically that her flight was prompted not by cold feet, but by "a host of compelling issues, which seemed out of control."...

...Wilbanks said her flight by bus to Las Vegas and eventually to Albuquerque was not in response to her pending wedding, which had been scheduled four days after she vanished.

"Those who know me know how excited I've been, and how excited I was about the spectacular wedding we planned, and how I could not wait to be Mrs. John Mason," the statement said.

"In my mind, it was never about the timing, however unfortunate. I was simply running from myself and from certain fears controlling my life."...
After reading this it help confirm my vote for bride most likely to go on drugs, get depressed, and kill her family... :(
