Hey, so I just transferred a lot of my photo albums to my new iPad. My pictures aren't geotagged because my camera does not have a GPS chip in it. However, I added location information to the pictures using Picasa (I have a Windows computer). The only problem is that my iPad only recognizes a few of these geotagged albums in the "Places" tab. For some reason, only about 2 (out of 10) albums show up on the map in the photos program, and I can't for the life of me understand why the other albums aren't showing up as having location information. When I right click on one of these files that isn't appearing properly, I can see the location information in the GPS tag...but it still does not appear on the Photo map on my iPad. Any ideas why this is happening? Also, if I modify the GPS data on one of the pictures that is showing up properly on my iPad, the iPad does not reflect this change. I'm really confused and frustrated with this...hopefully someone has an idea of what is going on! Thanks in advance...

Have you synced the ungeoteagged pictures before? If so, you need to delete them first (unsync them) and let itunes resync them after you've geotagged them.

Yea, I was suspecting it may have something to do with that. However, how do I unsync the pictures? I tried unchecking the folder album, syncing, and then checking it again and syncing. But this didn't help. Where does iTunes keep the "optimized" versions of the JPG files so I can delete them?

The optimized versions are kept in the "ipad/iphone photocache" in the same root directory or something.

Cool, it worked! I deleted the photo cache, and now my pictures are appearing properly. It's a bit of a pain if I forget to tag a specific album (because everything has to be re-synched) but at least I know what the problem is now. Thanks!
