Gestures aren't working

I'm now running Lion and I wanted to fiddle around with the gestures. I tried zooming in and out and nothing happened. Maybe these gesture features aren't working because my MacBook is an older model?

This is correct. I have a early 2008 black MB upgraded to Lion. There are no new gestures installed other than what was working in SL.

You need a multi-touch trackpad to use the gestures.

Basically anything with a Unibody and some late non-Unibody MacBook Pros. Plastic MacBooks don't have one.

Are there any keyboard equivalents? i.e. for switching between full screen apps?

The only thing I can find so far is the old cmd-tab.
