Gestures on 13" MBP not working

I've noticed that my gestures don't work upon starting my Mac, periodically. I have to restart my Mac for them to start working.

Has anyone experienced this problem with their MBP, specifically a 13" MBP?

I only have this issue when the computer is really cold (60F air temp or so) from sitting around the apartment while I'm at work (heater off) and I use it when I first get home.

After tapping a few times/warming the trackpad with my fingers/hand it seems to work per usual.

Have you tried resetting the PRAM and/or SMC to see if that helps?
