No cellular compatibility? No point. It’s a crippled version of the full product.
Not..everyone..needs..or..wants..cellular connectivity in their mini. Why would I spend money on something I don't need. For the few times, I might need it, I can just turn on my iPhone's hot spot and connect the mini via wifi. And if you want cellular you can get it from a company called....Apple.

You don't get GPS without the cellular package with apple.

But then your stuck using a small screen with the iPhone, so what's the point of buying an iPad?
Maybe for the vast majority of use cases like note taking, drawing, games, or streaming which don’t require a gps or location data at all?

When the cheapest android tablets all have GPS hardware, apple is clearly trying to upsell to cellular devices.

I would try to use gps/ cellular as my all in one device, but it's awkward to carry the iPad around without a bag.

I don't understand this. Just because a given person uses their devices in a different way for different reasons doesn't mean everyone else does or should.

There's a subset of people who have been complaining that GPS isn't in the Wi-Fi models for fifteen years now. I don't think they'll ever get the hint.

I would love that. But I honestly don’t think we’ll ever get a pro Mini. If you asked me a year ago, I would’ve said it’s likely. But with the iPhone Fold looking more and more certain, I think they’ll kinda brand that as the “Pro Mini”.
As soon as I got my first iPad mini (6), the idea of a Pro mini was unavoidable. It’s hands down my fav iPad I’ve used. Paired with Pencil 2, it’s been a complete game changer for my creative workflow.

One prob: Apple doesn’t really do “Pro” and “mini” in the same device - which I think is a mistake. I’d imagine there’s a pretty decent market for users that want “pro”-spec’s iPad in the. But with rumormentum growing for the foldable, I’m pretty sure there a 0% chance we see an iPad Pro mini (or iPad mini Pro).

My question: will we see Pencil support for the foldable?
