hi guy's! need some help..

recently pulled my Early 2008 iMac out the garage, and tried to see if it would work, as I thought the Graphics card had gone due tearing and jitters.. which since has been proved, not entirely true - even with the problems the specific model had through the whole line (prove me wrong)..

anyway, I managed to get it working - but it is really failing me on the OpenCL Acceleration! *it doesn't boot at all but crashes, with NVDANV50 & NVDAResman, but always loads 7xxxGLDriver but never 8xxxGLDriver!

i'm on a 24" iMac 8,1 A1225 (Mac-F227BEC8), with an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS (512 MB)..

I just drop the .kext, thanks to Google AI., no human help 🙁!

been messing around trying to get Lion running, although currently on Snow Leopard.. (I was on Yosemite, back in 2015!) [managed to get Mavericks's installed, but all across the board every OS version has the same fault - dropping the OpenCL!]

what to do, I would greatly appreciate your help, such as Wowfunhappy - or someone.. hope to hear back..

Two questions. I can’t tell from your post if the computer boots and runs Snow Leopard or not. Do you have the original disks?
Three questions, What are tearing and jitters?

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...tly-from-apples-servers.2444350/post-34512368 <- forgive me for daisy chaining..

yes & no! (it's been all of 18 years since I brought the iMac on Oxford Street at the Apple Store in person! (qnd hauled it to New Oxford Street, offices then and vehicle home! (I often hauled it back and forth!) *it is either as discs go, gone or in the garage in the original box with broken magic mouse (flimsy), and mac keyboard, remote and original manual (loose leaves)! #it is behind a heap of junk from fathers (dads) College!

I have like 6 partitions loaded, from 10.5.4 to 10.9, awaiting 10.10 & 10.11..

everything works as the day I brought it, except the graphics card - which throws the disc from booting, which i get past by omitting .kext/bundle/plugins extensions from all N* (Nvidia) files.. beyond this, I need to figure how to find additional solutions.. (only the 10.5.4 loads as you asked, but this also drops - the external intrusion in this specific card is by neural network tapping, or slip between the memory & hardware, loading journal spools into the device, which is overloading before booting, as missing the correct hooks for loading the standard startup!

#it is a very long story, but there has been attacks against which have been monitored - and affected the whole product line! (this specific model, Early 2008 iMac!) *this is by another bad guy, and his bad friend - probably seen them on tv, but crime pays, and evil sells!

I download as mentioned in the other post, Chameleon Wizard & EFIStudio last night.. (and these are for hackintosh', and we love the community all the same - however I am on official OEM hardware - that's just stock Apple!) [even after all these years, it should still distribute a fix or allow unshady means to attain, the working bundle which should be a bios/rom fix!] {i hope Apple finds a way to fix this, even if unorthodox - would resolve alot of issues for many people, who even some sold on! (bring them back!)}

for all early adopters of Intel Macs! (whose with me, ..?!) #speaks to one guy!

Your other thread was over my head. Bottom line seems to be that your Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS is problematic and shot. You can replace it with another card but they seem expensive and problematic. You could replace it with an ATI card from the same era iMac but they seem to cost as much as a used 2008 iMac on ebay. Kudos that you can get the computer to boot and display at all.

release word shot, that's a hair trigger.. since heavy attack at focus back in the time period, the issues are taken to symptomatic.. I am trying to restore it to original good (which were nearly at)! (there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!)

I just want to get StarCraft II loaded, since invite from Blizzard staff, they're helping fix up my body using their community of Blizzard gamers & Columbia Pictures Studio runners.. (they're to host and broadcast my wedding!) *but before this is an even more important event (which the Pope is all about)!

#StarCraft II is free to play, and a good tool to check benching of the game and hardware playback capability! (they're also recorded audio in the game, which I radio with them - so I can check back the original version, instead a modern update!) [just like telifone, with case based response since owners rights!] *soon rebranding..

I'm not trying to salvage parts of the graphics bundle, nor use different versions from x to x.. (just attempt to hook from 5.4, to 10.11.6, as a point to point fixed dedicated connection, like Houdini!) *this means memory is running from one version, all the way to the end version for the physical hardware, to stop from jitters & tearing! (this takes a whole community, not just 1 device nor 1 owner, even hackintosh is required, to catch the bits between official Apple for humans and animals sake, not just Windows (feet on solid ground)!

#such even BSD community and x86 is for instance Nvidia drives ftp packages! (new versions are readily available, but it is those forgotten about, which we want to bring focus back to!)
