I traded in my iPad Mini 1 towards a new 128GB Air 2. BestBuy has a promotion that gives you an extra $50 off coupon when trading in. Combined that with the 10% off Movers coupon and BOOM: a $700 iPad Air 2 is now $585. Using $160 gift card given for iPad Mini 1 turn in and I paid $425 + tax. ;)

You get it from the U.S. Post Office. Just go in and say you want a change of address form and the movers coupon packet that comes with it. You can leave and don't need to actually fill out change of address form. Inside is a 10% off BestBuy coupon (along with hundreds of other coupons)
 
With 301 dollar trade in for my iPad air I can get the 64 gb iPad air 2 for 225. Tempting...
 
Just did the exact same thing!

Traded in my 16gb iPhone 5 ($225) and iPad 2 (150 + 50 BB coupon) so 425 + 10% off movers coupon + 3x points.

SG 64gb air 2 for 149.69 out the door.

Careful tho the best buy associates had no clue what was going on. I had to kindly explain to one sales guy that there were indeed 3 colors of iPad not just silver and "bronze"...yikes really bronze? How can you sell the thing if you don't know what colors they come in?!..anywho yeh it's a good deal!

Agreed. Also, when I attempted to use the Movers coupon the sales associate automatically told me it wouldn't work. I told him to scan it and try. He was pleasantly surprised when it worked.
 
I'd like to talk about my great Best Buy experience today.

Went in and they did my trade in for my iPad Air 16GB Wi-Fi no problem for $250 and printed out a coupon for $50 towards the iPad Air 2. So $300 towards my purchase.

Offhand I asked if they would match Apple's educational discount for me and showed them the price online. To my surprise they did it without a hassle and all in all it was a slow but very positive experience.

I'm extremely happy with the process today and definitely changed my views on Best Buy!

Do you know if these movers coupons can be used online or only in store?

It doesn't say anywhere on BB website that those are required. I turned in my box and charger but the BB employee didn't ask for them. I have a ton of cables already so it wasn't a big deal.

Thanks. Can never have too many lightning cables in my opinion so I rather keep it if possible.

Some one screwed you. I went to best buy today for a trade in. The trade in value on best buy's website is $150 for the mini. Plus $50...Sounds like they owe you $85. It says in the fine print any iPad 2 or newer for $200 trade in value towards the Air. iPad 2 (2011) iPad mini (2012). Apple and ATT trade in for $130. $65 is a crime.

$585 was the total price of the iPad after the coupons he used, but BEFORE he used the gift card he got for the trade in. It's not completely clear, but I'm prett sure.

I've heard from some people that they might penalize you if you don't have all accessories (but the penalty is less than the cost of the accessories), but my experience - echoed by a few others - is that you just turn in the iPad. In my case, I had my cable ready to go if they asked for it, but they just took the iPad, inspected it, and gave me the gift card and coupon. I suppose it's possible that turning in the cable, charger, and box would grant you more money, but I'm not sure - I didn't ask or offer.

Thank you for clarifying. Yes that was before $150 gift card. So really paid $435 plus tax for 128GB Air 2.
 
Thanks for the answers around the accessories. I will leave them in the car in case they need them or will give extra money for them. If not I will keep them. My 12W charger is better after all :)

Is there a link that shows the details of this extra $50 promotion? I would want to wait until they got cellular models in stock. Concerned it may expire before then.
 
I am really mad at the OP. I wasn't even thinking about trading my Air and now I am. I have the movers coupon already too.
 
I also wasn't even considering getting rid of my iPad Air, but I got $351 for my 32 GB iPad Air 1. Out the door I paid $287.49 after tax for the iPad Air 2 64 GB. Totally worth it for that price!
