Amazon this week is back with a notable discount on the USB-C AirPods Max, available for $449.99 in all five colors, down from $549.00. This is one of the first times in a few weeks that we've tracked every color of the AirPods Max on sale at $99 off.

Compared to past deals, this is the best price we've tracked so far in 2026 on the AirPods Max, and an overall second-best price on the headphones. Current delivery estimates sit around March 3 for most colors, but the Midnight option is seeing delays by a few months.

Additionally, on Amazon you can get the AirPods 4 for $99.00, down from $129.00. This is a second-best price on the AirPods 4, which is the base model without Active Noise Cancellation.

Keep up with all of this week's best discounts on Apple products and related accessories in our dedicated Apple Deals roundup.

I think there will be an "internal" hardware refresh with the AirPods Max coming as early as this fall. It may get the H2 Bluetooth chip and the U2 UWB chip plus functionality akin to the AirPods Pro in terms of spatial audio and other controls.

Best Buy currently has AirPods Max at $100 off, and they have a trade-in program. Just for kicks I filled out the trade in form with info for my lightening AMs and the'd give me $130 back for those. That would bring the total for new usb-c AMs down to $355 (w/tax). I might have pulled the trigger on that 1 year ago, but at this point I'm waiting for the next update.

Would really prefer headphones that can work fully analog / externally driven in addition to battery-powered. And for battery-powered, an easily replaceable battery please (like the recent Fender headphones). Plus, long lasting materials that don't deform. Then I'd buy. Nice headphones should be usable for decades, not years.

Sounds like the H100 but the price is astronomical. Maybe the new Px8 s2? I do wish Apple would come out with a proper update for the APX.

Wowza, I'm surprised to see all the hate for the APM here. I personally think they're some of the best sounding over-the-ear BT headphones. I've gone through plenty of Bose and Sony headphones and they definitely beat the APM on comfort, as the APM clamp a lot and are quite heavy – but cannot match the APM in sheer sound quality.

Guess most think they are overpriced for the segment. I'm sort of one of them but I'm considering them for trying out Atmos playback and the personal spacial head tracking features. But the Pros can do that too...

They sound great, sure. But everything else about them is complete trash

Mesh wears out and next thing you know you have dents in your skull after extended use.
No buttons for anything. Have fun putting them in and pulling them out of the bra for any sort of troubleshooting.
difficult to work with anything besides apple (see above about the bra)
heavy on the head
cushions aren't very soft compared to leather/fake leather (this can be a plus though because the fake leather typically peels after so long)
storage is a joke
I could keep going but I think I've got all the big ones. But hey $500 isn't much money to some people and image > performance

Terrible deal at this point. Apple desperately needs to release new AirPods Max.
As much as I love my first-gen Maxes, have to agree with this. I’m finding myself wearing my AirPods Pro 2 when doing stuff like vaccuuming or dishes, simply because the adaptive audio mode makes so much sense for tuning out noise more selectively. With the Max, it’s all or nothing. Don’t get me wrong, the Maxes sound awesome and I’m very happy I bought them, but they’re definitely due for a proper upgrade with H2 chip features.

As someone who used to own these, do not buy these.

These are old, heavy and fully surpassed by a variety of options, usually for less money.

This product has become like the Mac Pro, where they just keep selling it and selling it, never adjusting the price or anything about it.

Nobody should buy these in 2026.

ABSOLUTE TRASH and APPLE did not back the people with the connectivity problems on the GEN 1's and left many (including me) with $500 unusable headphones after 14 months of using them!! APPLE KNOWS THESE ARE TRASH and WILL NOT BACK THEM

Also

0) Still just an H1 chip, even the “refresh” ?!?

1) Even Beats gives you a real carrying case + 2 sets of cables in the box

2) Bose 700’s looked more like an Apple product than APM
