Probably on sale because these are the bands that are poisoning people

I got a generic braided solo loop the other day and it looks and fits great. I wonder how it holds up in the long term compared to the official ones. And will it survive the washing machine like the official ones are said to?

Very good discounts on the watch straps. Would have definitely bought a few but too bad that there is no international shipping. No such discounts are available in my region.

The sale started before the news. Woot would not have done ax sale like you suggested.
Sort of... the study dropped back in December. And Woot (aka Amazon) probably saw something was going to happen before The Guardian article dropped.

This doesn't apply to the braided loop right? Just the plastic ones?
The study in December didn't specify specific bands, it just pointed out that nearly all the sport style bands from every major vendor had the offending compounds. The Guardian article which initially broke the news just prior to this sale links the study if you are interested.

IMO good for the study integrity, bad for the consumer. Its up to consumers with knowledge-in-hand to push the vendors for clarity.

Hope this helps!

Returned Solo Loop being too tight even after using Apple's measuring tool and recommendation. And not comfortable as feels plasticy with too much stretching to get it on.

PFAS issues are concerning. Though the lawsuit mentions the Sport Band and Ocean Band, the silicone Solo Loop is also questionable. Decided to stick with the woven, breathable, and adjustable nylon Sport Loop (even at full price) that came with the SE.

I don’t think it has shown to do that. Minute quantities and it isn’t like you are eating, drinking or inhaling it. But, if the hysteria means these things fall to only a 200% profit margin, well all to the good.

It actually has been shown to do that- have you been keeping up with the news?

And also, minute or not, it only takes 1 drop of it relative to a swimming pool for it to be way above federal safety limits in drinking water. They havent determined a limit for wearables, but I’m sure you get the picture- the product is toxic.
