Get Leopard to remember folder shortcut window sizes

I've got shortcuts on my desktop to: My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, My Movies and Downloads.

Leopard remembers the size of the window for the shortcut to the folder until I restart my Mac or put it to sleep. It is really irritating, as I like to have access to my frequently used folders on my desktop and not have to resize the window each time I open it.
