Get only personal data from Time Machine backup?

Am about to do a clean reinstall of Lion on my 3 year old Macbook, using a USB stick and the Apple Recovery Disk Assistant.

I have a full Time Machine backup.

What's the best way to get just the music/photos, etc, from it after the reinstall?

This. When you restore the machine and boot it up, just use migration assistant or pick (restore form time capsule) and pick what you want there.
