I have a tc that I am connected through via a 5mhz connection. Before I setup the 5mhz connection I never had the uptime counter next to the wireless icon. Now that I'm connected to a 5mhz connection I have the uptime counter, is there a way to disable this counter? I don't really care about the uptime of the connection

5Mhz?

The "uptime counter" you're referring to (at least I think I know what you're referring to...) is actually a feature of OS X's PPP support which is in no way related to WiFi.
