This sale is available in the Blue and Silver colors, while Pink and Yellow are currently sitting at solid second-best prices of $259.00. If you want the all-time low price, remember you'll have to clip the on-page coupon worth $9.01 in order to see the final sale price at checkout.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

Amazon also has the 256GB Wi-Fi model for the record low price of $409.99 in three colors, down from $499.00. If you're shopping for the cellular tablets, both Amazon and Best Buy are providing the year's best prices on these tablets.

Apple's 10th generation iPad might not be the most powerful of the lineup, but the A14 Bionic chip is more than powerful enough for daily Internet browsing, streaming content, and checking email. If you want to save even more money, and you're okay with an older iPad, the 9th gen model is just $199.99 for Black Friday.

You can find all the Apple Black Friday Deals currently available in our dedicated post. For everything else, we're keeping track of all of the season's best Apple-related deals in our Black Friday roundup, so be sure to check back throughout the month for an updated list of all the most notable discounts you'll find for Black Friday 2024.

That’s a good price for a consumption device, but another $150 for an M2 air is such a better deal.
I don't think m2's are going for 400 dollars, but you can buy an iPad Air M1 for:

250-279 Used
300-370 Refurbished
400-450 Sealed

For that you get (over iPad 10):

20x faster USB transfer speeds
Laminated Screen
Proper Apple Pencil Support
2x graphics performance
2x cpu performance
2x RAM
Support for Magic Keyboard
Apple Intelligence.

If you get an M2 iPad Air, you get all of the above and:

Horizontal Camera
Support For Apple Pencil Pro
%15 faster cpu (2.3x over A14 (multicore))
%25 faster gpu (2.5x over A14)
%40 faster npu, (altough i don't think this alone will matter much)
1.8x memory bandwith (this makes a difference when you are switching from an app to another all the time)
More Storage Options with base storage being 2x higher

But you unfortunately lose the sim tray if you go for cellular

EDIT: I should add that M1 and M2 comes with external monitor support

Best Buy is selling the 9th gen iPad for 199 bucks. Extra credit if you buy it in DE.

Thank you for adding all that. I made a comment that didn’t really qualify what I said, but you took care of that for me. No trolling, no sarcasm. Thanks for helping make my point. This is more of a YMMV deal but here is the M2 for 399.

I just bought a Pixel tablet. I really wanted an iPad but multiple user accounts was a key requirement. I find Apple's stance on this so annoying because while they would obviously prefer to sell us two iPads, I really don't need two.

The thing about the iPad is that many folks just use them as simple consumption devices that they take on vacation and enjoy while couch surfing. I fall into this group, and the iPad 10 is great for this purpose. It can also add a productivity boost as a secondary screen when paired with a MacBook and Continuity. Get a pencil and you have a nice tablet for making markups or taking notes. Anyway, at $250, it seems like a good deal.

Also, I notice people tend to keep their iPads well beyond their eligibility for software updates. I suppose this is because folks use iPads for basic tasks that don't require the latest OS updates.

Yeah. This is the use case that may have me switching away from iPads *for my kids*. They aren’t all getting their own, but parental controls and limits tend to be account based. My kids currently share an iPad to watch educational shows and for the oldest to do educational games…but this simplicity will soon be over and I’ll want per-kid control.
I don’t suppose that’s why you want multiple accounts?

For me… gave it to my daughter.. can’t find a usage situation… use the iPhone which is easier to hold and surf in the living room or on go to the computer… it’s nice but too bulky for me… others?

Oh, I didn’t realize we were buying for a 6 year old. My mistake.

Well we weren’t buying for you either :)

Sometimes you don’t need to pay 62% more for “better” that isn’t applicable to the use case. You made a statement of fact, not an opinion based on your use case.

No in our case my wife and I wanted a device that's primarily used for music and to manage our savings accounts so we don't have all of our finances linked to our phones, ie the device I use our on the street and on the train etc.

We just could have used the Mac, frankly, but both our banks insist on (biometric) verification through the app when online banking and not having the app on the phone in the first place was the idea.

I would have really preferred an Apple device for various reasons, but we both wanted to be able to use the fingerprint to sign into stuff and have our separate email accounts etc, so the iPad was out.

Not sure if I’m simply jaded at this point or just bored. Seemingly, nothing from Apple seems all that exciting these days. 🥱

Jaded, if you’re posting a lack of excitement in a sale thread, for a 2 year old device, that’s the simplest iteration of a product category that includes the Air and the Pro. At least IMHO :)

Smart! I take it you don’t want your spouse to have access to your account? Because if that’s not the case, I’d pick up an iPad 9, which has finger print biometric and allows for multiple prints (unlike Face ID). The downside is that any registered finger print gives access to everything.

Yeah, biometrics are incredibly handy. Maybe your bank app is different, but mine requires the biometric every time the app is opened, and times out if the app is in the background for 30 seconds.
I feel pretty confident that if someone swipes my phone while unlocked that they won’t get in via my bank app.
…my email on the other hand, Lordy…

Over the last 15 years I’ve swapped things up between phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop. My first computing device was a laptop because only suckers print out map directions…better to seat belt that laptop into the passenger seat 😂
When I got my first iPhone, I decided I’d be fine replacing the laptop with a desktop. Slowly, with age, I find reading long articles on my phone to be tedious, but I don’t want to sit at my desk, so an inexpensive iPad fit the bill. It also serves as a travel “TV” and kitchen recipe appliance.

I’m not about to argue that everyone should have a tablet. It’s going to depend a lot on which other devices you need/want, and how you use them.
It’s entirely possible that when my desktop and tablet phase out, that I’d replace both with a laptop…maybe.

We wanted to keep it separate. No particular reason, but we don't have joint accounts and so it just seemed natural.

Plus we would have had to either set up a separate apple id just for the tablet, although with family sharing that would have been manageable, or one of us would have had all their messages appear on the shared tablet.

To tell you the truth, I'm pretty sure there would have been workarounds for most of our concerns but in the end we wanted separate accounts.

I just didn't want to take the chance. I think our apps are reasonably secure but the apps just not being there makes it even harder.

You are right. I think. I can’t tell if you’re joking that all you get for the extra 60% isn’t a better deal.

I’m not joking. A “better deal” has to do with value to the individual. I could give you a car that doesn’t run for free, would that be a good deal for you? How about a gold toilet half off? Those are perhaps only “good deals” if you want/need those things. If you don’t, then it’s probably not a deal.

I don’t need/want those additional features, so paying for something I won’t use isn’t a good deal, for me. If it’s a good deal for you, then go for it!

I wouldn't buy any Apple device, at this point, that doesn't support Apple Intelligence. And an iPad 11, that's rumored to support it, is coming relatively soon.

Why can't we have any good deal in Canada? US$250 should be about CA$350, but the 10th gen iPad are, at best, CA$440. There is no competition up here...
Are you far from the US? Otherwise you can make a small trip somewhere there, get whatever you want, and go back home 😜

I would generally recommend an Air for most. But at $250, the 10th gen iPad should serve well for those looking out for a basic device. Will not be getting Apple Intelligence but it should get software support for many more years. Also it comes in some nice bright colours. Love the Pink and Yellow.
