Earlier this week, we began tracking a new all-time low price on the 32GB/1TB M5 MacBook Pro, and now the 16GB/1TB model has joined in on the deals. You can get this 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro for $1,499.99 on Amazon, down from $1,699.00.

At $199 off, this is a match of the lowest price we've ever tracked on this model, and it's available in Space Black and Silver. This is the model that launched in the fall of 2025 as part of a refresh of the MacBook Pro lineup, featuring a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display and 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU.

You can also still get the 32GB/1TB 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro for $1,799.00, down from $2,099.00. This one is only available in Silver on Amazon. In addition to the M5 deals, Apple's newest M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models are also available for new low prices on Amazon.

For clarity on this model, as I was just shopping these.

Your choice here is really between this and the 15" MBA 16/1tb, which one can get for $1350 at all the retailers, and both have the same base M5 chip/specs.

The rest of the difference is the better componentry in terms of screen tech, speakers*, ports, etc.

I went with a 15" MBA, as I found the 14" just a bit too cramped, the speakers to be great, and a fanless design is also fine and probably preferable for my particular needs.

The machine I really wish they made is a 16" MBP with this base M5 chip.

(The 16" MBP only comes with a very expensive Pro or Max chip)

*barely

It’s funny that with all of this talk about shortages of Mac Minis and Mac Studios, and potential price increases, laptops with similar chips and storage configurations seem to be plentiful and often on sale

Worked out well for me as I just so happened to want to switch from a Mac Mini M4 setup to a MBA of similar spec so I could have the "best of both" (docked + on the go with the same machine).

I sold my Mini for hundreds more than I bought it for ... and got a screaming deal on my M5 15" MBA 16/1tb off ebay (nearly new for $1k)

Because Apple are prioritizing laptop supply, as Apple sells far more laptops than desktops.
