The book explores the first five decades of Apple's history, including interviews with 150 key people who shaped Apple into what it is today, like Steve Wozniak, John Sculley, Jony Ive, and more. The book is launching to coincide with Apple's upcoming 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026.

Amazon's sale is on the hardcover version of the book, and provides an estimated March 27 delivery date for free delivery. If you're on the hunt for more discounts, be sure to visit our Apple Deals roundup where we recap the best Apple-related bargains of the past week.

Alternatively, order it through Bookshop.org and support a local bookstore in the process (which is what I did; not saying to not support MR, but Amazon doesn't need your money as much as a local bookstore does). The book is quite nice—worth the money for the content (and the short wait for delivery).

This review caught my eye

I’ve been an apple fan all my life, but this is nearly unreadable. The level of detail and research for this book can’t be denied, but the problem is the prose is at about a fourth grade level. For example:

“ At this point, the Steves’ business plan was still vague: Sell 50 circuit boards. But they still needed $1,600 to get them made. They needed some startup capital.”

Lazy and weak, and likely mostly written by AI.

In the midst of reading this now. I find it a very good read (as a very high majority of reviewers do....and will). Took a look at the history of some of the negative reviewers. Basically malcontents that hate pretty much everything or with a sparse history of reviews. The book is overpriced (what else? lol). If someone's main point is complaints about the cover then anything they say afterword is rightly ignored.

EXACTLY! I no longer buy anything through Amazon. Support local book stores.

The book is worth for generations who are not familiar with how Apple has grown from nothing to become a tech leader. It tells Apple Corp history in 50 years after conception. However, for those who are familiar with Apple journey from the beginning to now, the book is nice to have for a collection but not necessary to have. It is great that Apple growth is documented and the document is publicly published.

What else is there to know that it hasn't already been said about Apple and Steve Jobs?

I feel no need to give whoever my $34.

p.s.: At some point though I would like to read Lisa Brennan's to see what she has to say about her dad.

Looks cute! I’ll probably pick it up once the price goes down. I read on my kindle but sometimes enjoy having a physical copy of books I read for nostalgia!

I purchased a copy locally and few days ago and am about a third of the way through it. I think it's a good read, along with being well-designed with a lot of historic photos and documents. Some of the stories I've read before, but I have also learned some interesting tidbits that I was never aware of. I'm a retired network admin, but started as a Apple-certified tech in the early 1980's, so I always enjoy reading about technology history.
