We're tracking a pair of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro deals today at B&H Photo and Best Buy, respectively. You'll find the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air for $100 off at B&H Photo and the 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro for up to $500 off (with a membership) at Best Buy.

Starting with the Best Buy deals, you can get the 256GB 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro for $899.00 with a My Best Buy Plus/Total membership, down from $1,299.00. The 512GB model is at $999.00 with this extra discount, down from $1,499.00.

Note: Only My Best Buy Plus/Total members can see these final deal prices.

Both of these represent all-time low prices on the 2022 MacBook Pro, which has the Touch Bar. Even without the exclusive My Best Buy Plus/Total discounts these remain solid deals if not quite record low prices.

Secondly, B&H Photo has the 256GB 13-inch M2 MacBook Air for $899.00, which is down from $999.00. Apple dropped the price of this model down to $999.00 this week with the introduction of the new M3 MacBook Airs, and this is the first notable discount on that price that we've tracked.

The M2 MacBook Pro was discontinued 4 months ago. Really "down from" discontinued as opposed to when it was introduced a long while back. Those "down from" prices would have gotten you an M3 MBP 14" in the holiday sales. The 'street prices' haven't been in that zone for a long while.

" ... The 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro has been discontinued in the wake of the announcement of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. ..."

I cancelled my M2 15” MBA 16GB/1TB and picked up the 24GB/1TB 13” Pro instead. I got it for $1399 as a Best Buy Plus member. My M1 8/512 can now go to the wife or slot down to test machine status.
I mean at that price, it's hard to not recommend. It may be an "outdated" chassis, but it's still sleek. Aside from the webcam, it's a fully modern and capable machine. Go forth and enjoy, I do say!! lol

M2 Air could be the move at a good price. Would not shell out for a machine that has a touchbar at this point

Do you guys recommend that MBP 13" even though it's an old Touch Bar model instead of a MB Air M3 13"?

If you need the RAM and the HD space, absolutely. The only real downside to that laptop is that it's an older design and the webcam sucks. If those things aren't important to you, then that machine will last you 5-7+ years.

The Touch Bar is going away, but I never use it other than function keys anyway. Everything else about it is a completely modern machine.

The extra storage is nice. Don’t care for the webcam. I was only wondering about the Touch Bar due to some people hating it but mostly this will be for ocasional Autocad for my son who’s an architecture student. I like MBPs because they seem like a more solid choice in the long run.

Got it! Yeah, the Touch Bar was a flop haha. But I don't interact with it much.

Can't speak to AutoCAD other than I know colloquially that it's a pretty intensive program.

Air/Pro doesn't matter much in the long run, it's more whether or not you need the extra CPU/graphics power. We have Airs at my work that have lasted 10+ years and still run fine...ish :)

I think if you’re looking for a good computer, aren’t hung up on having the latest design and don’t consider the Touch Bar as a hindrance, there is a lot to be said for the 13 inch M2 Pro.

It’s a lot of Mac for that monies.

Do you guys recommend that MBP 13" even though it's an old Touch Bar model instead of a MB Air M3 13"?
I already have a 2016 15” MBP and a 2020 13” M1 MBP, so I’m well acquainted with the Touch Bar. If money’s tight the current deal at Best Buy is great, otherwise the 13” M3 is probably the way to go if you want some of the newer tech and new design that it offers.

Lack of MagSafe is a deal breaker for me.

The other issue is if you have the 13-inch MacBook Pro plugged into an outlet, that's one less Thunderbolt / USB 4 port available to use, unless you buy or happen to have a hub/splitter.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro isn't modern when it doesn't even have an HDMI port.

But I understand not everyone needs an HDMI port or more than one Thunderbolt / USB port

$899 is great price for the M2 Air. With the price officially dropping to $999 expecting to see similar prices in the future.

The Touch Bar never really bothered me once they added back the physical Esc key, and there are a couple of utilities like Better Touch Tool which really take adavantage of it. That being said, the Air has a nicer screen, MagSafe, better battery life, and some other things; but whether those upgrades are worth $400-$500 more for the same 24/1TB specs is up to you.

I have a 2012 and a 2015 15” MBP and have used the HDMI ports on those a grand total of 7-8 times so the HDMI port has never been a factor in what Mac I buy.

I use a TB3 dock, so I get power and ports and the extra monitor. I have an old work Dell D6000 USB dock if I need DisplayLink monitors, it works fine.

I have an iPhone if I REALLY need a better webcam. I participated in business chats since the iSight camera days and resolution was rarely the issue. Looking at you, Skype.

At this point, the price to performance ratio for this 13” Pro is just too good to pass up. I also refuse to pay Apple’s ridiculous full retail prices for their kit.

I’m seriously considering trading in my 2020 Intel MBP for the 24 GB RAM/1TB M2 MPB, but when did Apple get so conservative with the USB ports?? My 2020 MBP has two Thunderbolt ports on each side!

In 2020, there was a low-end Intel 13" MBP with only two ports; this M2 MBP is the low end model when compared to the 14"/16" M2 MBPs.

Nice!! Such a great deal with the freakin’ insane prices Apple charges for RAM and storage these days.
I can’t say I wasn’t a little tempted by the space black 14” MBP sitting there in the demo area. I almost caved, but I really would rather have an M3 Max or M3 Ultra Mac Studio as opposed to an M3 MBP.
