iPad Pro Get Verizon Nano-SIM at Apple Store?

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with getting a free Verizon nano SIM for their iPad Pro at the Apple Store. I know if you order an iPad Pro via apple.com you can add a Verizon SIM to the cart, but didn't know if I can just go in store and pick one up at no charge when not ordering an iPad.

I'm trying to prevent having to go to a Verizon store and dealing with them making me activate it right then and there.

When I bought my iPad I asked for one and they gave it to me free. I haven't activated it yet.

Just FYI, I hit up the Apple Store at lunch today - asked for a Verizon SIM and walked out with one at no charge 2 minutes later.
