Man I was such a skeptic when it came to the iPad. But the moment I held it in my hands I knew I need it. Don't know why I need it, but I do.

This might sound a bit gay coming from a guy, but I enjoyed playing Dinner Dash! LOLZ

It just works on this huge, beautiful, screen!

If you think you'll really use it, consider getting a bigger one.

I've thought about it. I will never run out of space.

A few months down the road, the extra $100 or $200 you spend now on a 32GB or 64GB model won't matter. But dealing with the issues due to a lack of memory is sure going to be annoying. That's at least what I found over time. :)

Exactly why I went with the 32... I figured it was easier to spend an extra hundred now than having to deal with running out of space later.

I originally intended to buy a 32GB model, then I talked myself out of buying one altogether. On launch day though, I just had to play with a demo unit, and sure enough I buckled. I bought the 16GB model just to save $100 and feel less guilty about the expense. I was afraid I would regret skimping on the storage, but now that I have it I don't miss the extra space at all. I've yet to use even 25% of it's capacity, even after throwing a few essential albums on it, all the apps I cared to download, a few hundred pics and a couple movies. Given my usage patterns now, I think it will be a long time before I bump against the storage limits. The only thing I regret now is not holding out for the 3G version, but given the exorbitant monthly fee I shell out for my iPhone, it is a minor relief to know that no amount of temptation will convince me to toss another $30 down the drain every month, prepaid or not. :)

How big are your movies if you're able to load "a couple" on a 16gb model without even reaching 25% capacity? Are you getting them from iTunes or converting them yourself?

I loaded 20gb of media and apps within an hour of powering up the device.

That's exactly my point. My wife would be left out if I had bought the 64GB unit (with 3G) first.

Haha, EXACTLY what I plan to do. I couldn't wait for the 3G, so I went ahead and picked up a 16GB to play with.. When the 3G comes out, I will get the 64GB, and pass the 16 on to my wife who doesn't need the space, nor the 3G.

One was the Star Trek (2009) digital copy that came with the Blu-Ray (1.83 GB, 853x352, 2052 Kbps), and one was was a so-so rip of the Matrix (537 MB, 512x208, 547 Kbps).

I was disappointed with the quality of both BTW... The Matrix was obviously not going to look that great, but I was hoping for razor-sharp clarity with the paid, professional encode of Star Trek, and it wasn't there. No surprise considering that it does have to upscale the movie from 853px to the 1024px width of the screen, but I was hoping the dimensions of the movie would be higher from the start considering the "HD" era we find ourselves in. Oh well.

Ah okay. I have some movies that look good (720p, converted myself) but they're 3gb each so load a few and suddenly the iPad is low on memory.
