I'm in the market for an Apple Watch, looking for clarification:

I've read the GPS used to track distance/pace, etc. won't activate/lock until the start timer has been engaged/turned on. Some suggest starting the timer, then instantly stopping it to get a GPS fix, and then starting the run.

Is it possible to start/stop the watch, get a GPS fix, THEN reset timer to 00:00:00 all while maintaining a GPS locK?

thanks-

Sort of. You can cancel and start a new workout.

But I recommend you buy Workoutdoors. It will show gps status before you start and is a steal, with all the extra features it bring.

[doublepost=1564678502][/doublepost]Thank you. Follow up - can you share your experience regarding current pace refresh rate or how quickly pace changes are reflected in watch? My Garmin is brutal even though it's set to poll more frequently.

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

I'm not an avid runner, nor have I played with any of the Workout settings aside from which stats show up while I run, and I can say that the pace updates are near real-time on my Series 2 watch.
