Getting a macbook pro - is now the right time?

Im getting a macbook pro 17", but from what I can read on various sites the new models in the apple laptop lineup are not far away.

What do you say? Is now a stupid time to cough up a lot of cash for this amazing device?

I'd wait for the refresh no matter how long it takes, unless you absolutely need one immediately.

It is rumored that they will be updating the macbooks on Tuesday (again).

"New" 15" MBP

I didn't wait. Just bought from Apple a refurbished 15", 2.66, 4GB, 320GB, model 5,1 (Late 2008). It is fantastic! I needed the ExpressCard 34 slot to run a Matrox MX02 Mini/Max video breakout box to render HD video off my DVR. The USB2 "movie boxes" can obviously only run at 480Mbps whilst the ExpressCard slot runs at 2Gbps. I'll eventually upgrade the HDD to an SSD.

I hope the new 15" MBPs bring the ExpressCard 34 slot back!
