My fathers polo gets about that and he drives like a madman, 1.3 petrol.

We're going to get a 2006 model it looks like (still new on the lot). The nav system is quite slick, I love it. We already have XM in all our cars, so this will be our 4 XM Radio we've bought - although the first integrated into the car directly.
Save some $ getting last year's model. Cool!

Minivans are very convenient. When I was single, I was ready to purchase a used one but came down on orders to Japan. I've owned sports cars of various types. They are fun no doubt, but not very useful. The Minivan concept is so versatile -- almost like a covered pickup truck. ;)

Sounds like yours will get great gas mileage as well which is fantastic.

The Odyssey has been rated as one of the WORST cars for reversing vision, out of any car.

Apparently you cant see something like 17 square meters behind the car when reversing.

Saw it on the news not long ago, in response to yet another kid that was run over by his own parents in their own car because they couldnt see him behind the car when reversing.

Just looking at an odyssey, from any angle, you know you wont be able to see much in any direction except, forward.

just my thoughts :)

Not an issue if you get the Nav system with the rear camera - which we did :D

And its fantastic - a nice wide angle lens at that.

I was asking the salesman while we were buying the car when they thought the Odyssey would go Hybrid - he was figuring within 5 years. Who knows, he's not the expert, but it sounds reasonable.

Since having the car for a few days, the ECO light comes on often enough (means the engine is working on 3 cylinders instead of 6) that I know its going to make a difference in gas mileage even around town.

So its great to have a V6 for the power when you need it and the rest of the time its and In-line 3 :D

I didn't see the post when you'd actually bought it. Congrats! It would seem that the most popular vehicle among MR moderators is the 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring model. ;)

We're in the process of switching from a 2.0lt 165bhp Alfa Romeo 146 ti to a 1.2lt 80bhp Fiat Stilo.
From around 23mpg to 38mpg. 0 - 60 in about 7 secs to 0 - 60 at some point, as long as you're not going up hill. :(

But when you total up all the savings involved we'll have around an extra £100 a month.
