Just got a brand new ipad2 today.... Have an Apple TV 2 as well... and just (grudgingly) upgrading my macbook pro to Lion.

I actually paid for the $10 Air Display app....... let's just say something I never do. Mostly because I was just impatient to get my whole setup hooked up before a friend came over...

Anyways, I realize now apparently I can also stream my desktop (mirrored) through the apple TV with air display on my Macbook Pro as well.

However when I follow the instructions it gives me on my ipad.... which means installing the Air Display on my mac and all that, I am stuck.

On the top menu bar, the Air Display icon is visible on my MB pro, but when I run it (yes I went to the link they give you for downloading the correct drivers its like activa/d.com or something like that too lazxy to look)

Under the "Settings" tab my ipad2 comes up fine. But under the main "Connect" tab, for "Status" it says "Error driver not installed"

Yes, I have tried clicking "reinstall driver" several times, as well as completely reinstalling the application..... and alleged driver/package that I am given from the installation link.

It's disappointing that the ipad has to apparently rely on my macbook pro to first setup Air Display??

I mean it works in the sense that my iphone 4 does.... aka I can press the Airplay button for Youtube videos, my pictures, my videos etc...

BUT I DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT ALL THAT ****.... I GOT THIS SO I COULD WIRELESSLY STREAM/MIRROR MY DESKTOP OF MY IPAD2.... AND MY MACBOOK SINCE APPARENTLY NOW THAT IS AN OPTION?

Thank you!

Godammnn!!!! Does this mean I am screwed?? That seems absolutely unfair. Apple cannot put out all these projects and possibility screw a large number of their product users.....

"The Air Display host software runs well on Lion, except for Mac models with an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M or 9600M video adapter. You can still install the Air Display host software, but the Air Display drivers will disable themselves on Lion on these specific machines."

My graphics card of course happens to be NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.......

there must be a way around this?
