I have had an Apple Watch for nearly a year, and I think it has motivated me. I have started reaching my step goals, being on my phone less, as I can see important notifications and leave them till later if need be. I have also started to track my workouts better through the normal FitnessApp, but I particularly enjoyed AppleWatch features such as Breath and Mindfulness. I also downloaded an app recently called StressFace which has helped me manage my stress levels throughout the day better than I could do before. I believe it depends on what exactly you are looking for but the Watch and the Apps have definitely been a game-changer for me :)
Thank you. I've decided to wait for the Apple Watch 8 since it is so near to coming out but getting fit will really help me as I'm quite overweight.

When you do get the watch I recommend not changing anything for a month, just let all your health data baseline. Then in your second month you'll be able to start making changes and you will be able to start trending.

Each to their own of course.

I would even consider picking up a used SE now while you're waiting to start gathering that data.

If data doesn't provide any motivation for you, then don't bother. But for me I like being able to see my health changes illustrated in data and trends.

I have a Xiaomi Band 4 and the big upside of that is the two week battery life, while the big downside is that the heart rate measurement can be massively out. Cheap piece of rubbish that doesn’t work, what do you want for 35 euros. From there, anything that does work will be an improvement, but I will be scrutinising those heart rate graphs closely.

So I will probably be getting a Series 8 when it comes out.

I have a £120 Apple gift voucher that I am going to use on the Series 8 Apple watch. I'm pretty excited now.

Yes, it’s a birthday present for me, so I’m not paying anything. It would be ideal if I were to get it before going on a hiking holiday, but I’m not sure the timing for the Apple Event is going to work out for me.
