Getting an iPad, 15inch vs. 17inch macbook pro?

What is the iPad offering that a MBP can not that you need to use both?

For me it was 3G. We use the iPad while driving (passenger does lol). It was great on an extended trip through the boonies of Louisiana, Miss, Bama, TN, NC lol.

Well... I can get around 8 hours for using iWorks and iTunes Brightness 60%
What did you do??

Mine is pretty much on until the battery runs out which is typically 3 hours or less. I surf the web, watch financials, chat and email.

The thing I really do like about my MacPro is the very quick recharge time. It is super fast.

Easy and fun to take everywhere portability for one.

Thanks again everyone who posted. For the sake of closure, I thought you might like to know that I ended up getting the 15inch i7 AG and I couldn't be more happy! I still lust over a big screen and will probably pick one up in the fall sales. At the moment I'm leaning towards the newly released hp zr24w, although a lot can change between now and then. But in the mean time I'm more than satisfied and just enjoying my new mac!

Did you consider the new 27" iMac as a possible solution or do you have to have portablity?
