Get the iPad. Don't look back. You will enjoy it. It is amazing!!!!!!!

yes you might look back in a month or two when more android device come up with better screens, better resolution, more memory, open file system and most of all java and flash.
up to you. i bought my ipad three months ago when there was virtually nothing else on the market and i don't regret it. right now if i would simply wait at least until march to see how the RIM playbook competes.
and while usually i would agree with other folks on this forum that if you wait you will never buy anything i can't do it this time. there are certain milestones that are important and for you it seems to be java and flash, for me it is an open file system and ability to download attachments without buying an app.

I just bought an iPad 64GB 3G and love it. It does more than I require and if the iPad is simply amazing I will sell mine in eBay and recoup 90% of my money back towards an iPad 2. I'll probably wait for iPad 3.

Yeah, I use Splashtop remote around the house to get to my desktop (which can stream flash) and Logmein (which can't stream video) when I am away. Pretty happy with the setup since I mainly use the iPad around the house and have never needed flash on the road.

If there is an announcement on Feb 1, I would definitely wait for that, at least.

I've been pondering the same strategy, except using CL instead of flea-bay. Heard too many seller horror stories.

Trouble is (he said, probably overanalyzing the situation) that if v2 is gee-whiz enough to get people to drop their v1s for it, it will drive down the resale of the older models. I'm figuring I can MAYBE recoup 70-80% of the original price if I throw in my original applecare and defender case. Unless I happen to take advantage of the uninformed.

Macs used to offer relatively meager upgrade specs in the powerpc days, which I think was a contributing factor in its resale value. While I don't think it will ever be as bad as the used PC market, I do think the days of getting 90% of list price on a year old piece of electronics is behind us.

Apple will not announce iPad 2 this month or February...

Right now, apple is going big with Verizon iphone 4 and they don't want to steal thunder from it. iPad will be announced sometime in March and released around late March or early April.

I bought my iPad 3G 64GB just a week ago and don't regret it at all.
Even if they announce the next model in a week or a month, I wouldn't really regret it.
It does more than I expect from it, so that's nice. + now I don't use my iPhone4 for every little thing
--> 4 to 5 days of iPhone4 battery life now, before iPad this was 1 to 2 days.

And when the time comes (probably around the "iPad 3"), I'll sell and get the new one.
I had my iPhone2G up until 3 months after the release of the iPhone4, so I'm not to worried.

Congrats. I had a strong feeling you would. I got mine for Xmas. Didnt ask for one I didn't even think I wanted one, as I have an iphone 4, but this thing rocks hard. Now i dont ever want to be without one. Of course the iPad 2 will be announced soon enough. So what? I hope it blows me away. I can easily keep this thing for two years and I can guarantee the iPad 3 will be even better. That is what having iPhones with two year contracts over the last few years has taught me. You can enjoy your awesome product and still look forward to your next upgrade.

Yeah USB ports won't charge the iPad, not enough current for it to charge. It will charge on Mac USB ports though, more current on them. I just bought the Apple case. I actually like it. It has a flap to protect the screen that folds back to act as a stand both portrait and landscape. Plus when you lie it down the iPad lays at maybe a ten degree angle, good for typing. I'm on the fence with a screen protector, I think the flap will be enough.

Like Rhapsody, I wouldn't be able to put it on iPad, but i could on iPhone.
If you are referring to Rhapsody the music service, it does run on the iPad. They haven't sized it up for the iPad, but the iPhone version can be 2x to make it fill the screen.

after using this for minute, I am going to take back the keyboard dock.

It is a very cool idea, but I rather have a case and wireless keyboard!

Then maybe get me a dock for overnight charging, but yeah it looks very cool when hooked up, but I am limited on where I can take it cause the slightest bump and it falls off the dock!

Seeing that you are worried about bumping it over then I should tell you that the Apple case I mentioned will fall over with the slightest bump too. I'm not worried about it as I won't stand it up with other people around to bump it and I certainly won't knock it over. The other thing about it is that it collects a fair amount of dust, easy to clean though. The edges protrude out a bit. I thought it was too much until I bumped it slightly walking past a table. The edges are designed to act as a bumper. Pretty nice. It adds almost no bulk and feels very slim. Priced kind of high maybe for what it is. I don't know.

Bought my iPad recently also

Great device altho that screen protector you bought is horrible save some money and get the speck one it's much better

Since you had waited for some time now waiting a few more days or a month won't hurt you especially if your wait would be worth it for the upgrades.
