Getting bored with iPhone 11 Pro Max

Will I be shooting myself in the foot if I upgrade now or is the 12 Pro Max pretty future proof for a while?

I know any talk of an iPhone 13 is just rumor at this point .

I’m bored of my 11 too, I was bored of my 4s,5s,se 1 and 8 to. And I am sure I will be bored by my new se3 or iPhone 13 too.
Hell after 6 months I am bored of my Apple Watch as well. And after almost 10 years my car is boring as hell too.

But all these things are making life a lot easier, and are great utilities for undertaking new life goals 😎

it's a phone! it does nothing to entertain you. if you're bored, download some games. learn something new on it. a new phone isn't gonna make you less susceptible to boredom, except briefly.

jumping from "ooh shiny" to "ooh shiny" isn't gonna make you feel better about yourself.

No, at this point with the things people are able to discern from supply chain movement we can be almost absolutely certain that apple is releasing 4 iPhones, in September, two pro and one mini, 120hz screen likely on at least the pro... I can go on but you've already read the rumors.

Just don't expect anything that folds and has 6g and 24 hour battery life.

Every time I play with the 12 Pro Max at the Apple Store, I'm amazed at how similar the phone looks, feels and operates to the 11 Pro Max. Very little difference and reason to upgrade honestly. And based on what I've heard about the 12s/13 I may end up keeping the 11 Pro Max for another year. It's an outstanding phone. If I do get a 12s/13 I may actually go for the regular pro phone...

Ooh yeah, that’s one golden tip. I switched from a Spigen clear case , to a Spigen Neo Hybrid case. It makes the phone fee fresh again. At least for a couple of days 😎

Wait for the 13. Visually the 13 will look more like a substantial upgrade with the smaller notch (according to leaks). I waited 3 years with the X and when the 12's came out I was somewhat underwhelmed. However I did upgrade because of the camera, battery life, etc and that seemed to be the smart move.

What I had really hoped for was the smaller notch / bezels. According to rumors the 13 is getting that this year. That would make the jump from 11 to 13 better visually (and of course the other incremental upgrades) vs. 11 to 12 where it looks identical.

Haven't we had the "smaller notch" leaks and rumors every year, since 2018??? *yawn*

You must upgrade now the difference between 11pm and 12 pm is huge I mean HUGE 😎

When AT&T has another crazy iPhone sale around the next launch, I will upgrade my 11Pro Max to a 12. Unless there is something earth shattering in the next one I’ll stick with my one year model behind give away sales. I’m likely never leaving AT&T so so I don’t mind the the payout schedule.

I find it funny you want a ”future proof” phone when you got bored so quick. No judgment just admit you like new things and it doesn‘t matter how future proof they are because you’ll have a new one every generation anyway. 😉

13 is not a rumor as it will happen eventually unless they skip it like they skipped 9. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I really like the whole 11 lineup personally and should be good for another 3-4 years.

What in the 12 Pro Max will takeaway your boredom? Lol
You do realise that all these phones pretty much do the same functions now.

I would say wait because at least the iPhone 13 may actually bring a ProMotion display to iPhone for the first time, which will make these phones truly “Pro”, if you are going to be bored may as well have it at 120hz Screen Refresh Rate at this point. ;)

That’s the problem with the excellent iPhone marketing.

It promises nirvana, but in the end, what you get are yearly iterative updates of an already very good product.

The thing is that since the X, you only really need to to upgrade every 3-4 years now, as the phones have become so capable.

There is rarely any feature that is so revolutionary it makes it a must have (I’d include 5g in this at the moment).

Finally, I’ll concede 2 years if you always want to to covered by AppleCare.

I think phones in general have become boring. Nothing's spectacularly new, exciting or innovative anymore. Just incremental improvements year-on-year to keep us Apple sheep brainwashed into thinking we MUST have a new shiny iPhone every year, while all the while making billions for Apple - which of course isn't a problem for me because I'm a multi-millionaire, but it's not like we're seeing the re-invention of the wheel or the internal combustion engine again, is it!

Time to get off this gravy train me thinks. Well, maybe after seeing what this years new iPhone brings! :p

Just get the 12 Pro Max now. By the time the 13 is released, you would've been bored with the 12PM anyway, so you can then get the 13 Pro Max.

Phones are not really exciting. Find a new hobby. Getting new phones out of boredom is bad for the environment.

I know there are lots of things that can be done with an iPhone but I rarely use it for anything besides phoning. I don't use mine for games or watching videos. I don't use the camera. The one thing I do use it for is pretending to be occupied while waiting for appointments etc.

I going to get a dumb phone when my 8+ dies. I'll save a crap load of $ and hopefully salvage my brain.
