ok... so it let me into the account creation page, accept after I make a user, I gives me this error:

Sorry, an unexpected error has occured.

[Local account creation failed]

[NOTE: this exception originated in the server.]

(The | is there to prevent the emoticon from showing up)

If I press ok, it gives me another error which says:

Sorry, an unexpected error has occured.
(unable to add standard user)

If I press quit, it just restarts the whole setup over again.


Any ideas?

Revival Post!

Well here is a revival post for those who were subscribed to this thread. I am getting more than likely 9 PowerMac G4 AGPs for free from my school. I should be getting those at the end of the month. Other than that, I have not gotten any other free computers, but I know i will be over the course of the rest of this school year, and the three years to follow.

Wow, re-read this entire thread. My skillset has changed so much over the past 2 years. Most of the problems I had encountered in this thread I can do in my sleep LOL. Interesting to see that some of the members who first replied to this thread when I created it, I later became good friends with them.

Uh, well, that's was a long time ago. They have since been recycled by the school (a year ago actually)

The teacher who was going to give them to me was overruled by the administration since they were NJ property

School districts also have to meet a certain recycling quota, so if 20 computers need to be recycled, they will be recycled... No matter what

Yeah that was also the problem... actually, now that I'm thinking about it, that was exactly the problem. The needed to meet the quota for machines that needed to be recycled.

This reminds me kinda of how i was banned from school computer for 2 years in a row. I now just bring my own laptop (wish it could be my ibook but its broken)
