Getting Front Page and Forum Time Zones to match

This has been annoying me for a while but I never bothered asking the question. In the forum, I set my timezone to be GMT -5 (EST), but the articles on the front page do not seem to take this setting into consideration (always posted in GMT -8 (PST)).

Is there any way to get the Front page article times to match the user's selected timezone in the forums?

I have attached photos illustrating the issue.
