Just bought two WeMo power plugs that are advertised as Home Kit compatible from Costco. I got it working, though no matter what I do I can not get Home app to see it. I tried resetting it, reconfiguring, etc.

I am currently using a bunch of Lutron lights throughout my house and I didn't need to do anything from what I remember, the Home app just recognized them and started using them. When I try adding the WeMo switch manually through the Home app it never displays. Any ideas?

Update: I just went into the wemo app and it popped up with a message saying the Wemo app was connected though home successfully though it does not show up in My Home. Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks

Are these version two with native HomeKit compatibility or version one without? The way to tell is by checking the box. Won’t have a HomeKit icon on the box if version one. From what I remember, version one was a huge PITA to get in HomeKit. Just kept having to try till it finally connected. The Wemo app is required for version one.

Also, did you check all the rooms in your Home app? May have added them to a default room and not put it on favorites which would not show them on the main page.

Not exactly the same situation but I’m having some trouble getting Wemo plugs connected to HomeKit. I replaced my router and for the life of me I can’t get them reconnected to HomeKit or using the Wemo app. I feel like I’ve tried everything.

Yeah, wemos can be tricky to connect to once they go offline. I’ve had to use factory reset more than a few times on the dimmers and wall switches. The plugs have been ok, touch wood.

Is your new router broadcasting a 2.4ghz network? When you reset the Wemo and reset it up did you make sure your iPhone was on the 2.4ghz network?

Yep did all that. I finally got it to work by deleting the wemo app and attempting to connect the plugs through HomeKit while on the 2.4ghz network. Took a dozen or so tries but it finally worked.
