Getting iCloud to resync?

Does anyone know if it is possible to have iCloud resync? I noticed that not all of my contacts and calendar entries have been synced.

My other half's contacts just disappeared the way I fixed it was to go to iCloud settings on the phone, and turn it off and then on again.

I did that and it worked, I was also interested in having it resync from my Mac.
