Getting iMessages to new iPhone

Hi, received my iPhone 6s today. I am having issues with my previous on my iPhone 5s iMessages showing up on my new phone. Any help?

Obvious question, but are you signed into iCloud on the new phone?

Yes, iMessage and iCloud is set up. Ever since I activated my 6s, my 5s won't activate on iMessage but it is on.

My iPad 2 and 5s doesn't have an issue

Had the same issue with the parent's phone. I turned off iMessage and turned it back on again. That solved it.

I have tried that repeatedly, and turning on text message forwarding but the code doesn't show up.
