I just got my AT&T home phone disconnected. Getting help with their customer service is the worst. Verizon has always been so easy to deal with.
Just make sure that you want to do business with AT&T. Just try getting through to each companies customers service. Verizon still has the best customer service.

I vaguely remember a Consumer Reports study that revealed that overall, all the various cell carriers had roughly equal customer service approval ratings from their customers save one - T-Mobile.

I can say I personally have had lots of interaction w/ Sprint, and had decidedly mixed results. I've just now switched to AT&T, and thusfar they've been very easy to deal with - we'll see what comes...
