Well, I've been using my iPhone for 5 years and I really want to get iPhone X on Nov 3rd so badly. However, I know that it might be impossible since tons of people will be going to wait in front of Apple store. Any idea what should I do? I cant spend time to wait near Apple store lol.

You have a better chance of getting one on launch day by ordering online than you do trying to stand in line and take your chances at one store.

I don't think Apple prefers those to wait in line to see if they can get a Phone on launch day anymore. And there's no guarantee of what store will have for available stock. Your best opportunity to get one, is to pre-order immediately and would likely ship or deliver within the following week if possible.
You have to be crazy to stand in line unless you are literally the first person in that line, and even then you're likely to waste your time.

Waiting in line on opening day may not get you the X as the store might only get a few to sell. Preordering is the way to go.
Preorder at midnight PST if you actually want the phone, otherwise prepare to have a lengthy wait. I usually do not mind multiple threads about the same topic, but how are these threads still being created?

yeah apple does not want the lines anymore. they want people to preorder it to their home or to the store. but they wanna get rid of the lines. there were actually some people saying they were trying to walk into an apple store and go buy an iphone 8 but since they didn't preorder they had to send them away
That number will include your own. If you go online when preorders start your chances are as good as everyone else’s.
Use the Store App on iPhone/iPad. Set up your favorite now, set up Apple Pay. When orders open, order phone. Done.
I really like this approach to get rid of lines as they are ridiculous. Last time I stood in line it was only for 30 mins when the first iPad launched and it was a last second decision.
Everyone does not think they're receiving their iPhone X on November 3. What they are thinking, is they pre-order quickly and receive their iPhone X in a timely fashion.
Obviously you need to stay up till 3 am and pre-order online. Assuming you succeed in ordering as soon as it's first offered online you should get yours for the 3rd.
Not really, millions of people will be pre-ordering at the exact same time as you, obviously not all of them will get it for launch day delivery or even late Nov/early Dec delivery. If a million people press a button at the exact same time, not all of those presses get registered at the same time - there will always be a difference, whether it's in seconds, milliseconds, microseconds, etc - and that matters. It's all down to luck and timing, you will only get it for launch day delivery or late Nov/early Dec delivery if you manage to beat others by seconds, milliseconds, microseconds, nanoseconds, etc. Otherwise you will get it later, depending on *exactly* when you ordered
Last year there weren’t any plus models in most stores on launch day however this year they might have some in the stores to create some fanfare. People can be filmed coming out with the first one etc
If and I say if the supply will in fact be 12 million and the record for launch weekend is 13 million then it would suggest a more normal launch. Folks who order in the wee hours get it on launch day, after awhile the date starts to slip and will run out to several weeks. My best guess.
Pre-Order. or Stay in line for days before launch day and run the risk of supply running out before you get to front of line. Repeat daily until you get a phone. Maybe days or weeks or months later. Really good investment of your time. Stand in line for days, take your vacation, quit your job. Having the latest phone is much more important than having a life or a job or being able to pay your bills, support family, have home. The phone is your life and it's only meaning.
