    Hi all
I'm going to purchase an IPP this weekend and give my son my Air2. However I have a dilemma on something I need to do.

First I have an iPad Air2 and an iPhone. I have not turned on iCloud Photo Library yet (but plan too). By and large 90% of the pics are the same. There's about 10% where some are on iPhone and not iPad (vice versa). However both are backed up to the iCloud individually. From what I read, it can take days to a week to upload all the images and vids to iCloud Photo Library. I'd like to give my son my iPad this weekend.

So here's what I'm it an ideal way to go?

    1) PUrchase new IPP
    2) Restore IPP from Air2 backup (including all photos and videos)
    3) Turn on iCloud Photo LIbrary on new IPP and iPhone and let it do it's thing
    4) Give happy son my old (albeit) wiped iPad

Should I try and sync the Air2 and phone first, then just turn on photo library on IPP when done? I think the only difference is time. Option 1 I can give my son his iPad right away or Option 2 he has to wait for some days.

Am I seeing this right or am I missing something entirely? Any inputs appreciated.

I backed up 14,000 photos In like 30 minutes If that, just sync over iCloud (depending upon internet speed). I always suggest not restoring on your ipp or from any previous device. Sometimes it can corrupt the device and make it run slower. Set up as new and then sync your photos and video over to your new ipad

    Thanks Queen -
Quick do I go about getting all my apps from the Air2 if I don't restore? Or maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. It's been a while since I got a new iPad, however isn't it when you get a new one it asks you to input your cloud credentials so that it can load all your apps, music, etc?

You you can download your previously purchased app directly from the App Store under the purchased category. That is a preferred method as a new device should be setup with fresh downloads.
