Getting Notepad++ v6.3 working on Mac

Hello,

Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as getting notepad++ 6.3 working on my mac (10.8- mountain lion).

I have installed XQuartz on my mac, and have installed Winebottle (updated), yet when I run the notepad++ exe file....while Whinebottle does take me to the custom prefix (with the multiple winetricks)....when I hit Install on my desktop an icon shows up as Notepad++.

But, when i click the icon to boot up the program, the program bounces up and down a bit on my dock, then disappears (so the program never launches)

I know this is a ****** response, but just use sublime text 3. It's ground up better for osx.
