Getting notification AND email for Shared Calendar, I only wait notification

Hello. I have a Shared Calendar that I created and shared with my friend. I get e-mail updates and notifications when my shared calendars are changed. The person who I am sharing it with only gets notifications. I would like to only get notifications. I have all of the appropriate settings.
