I uninstalled Instagram on my iPhone X last week and I still get daily notifications from the app saying people posted a photo or liked my post. I re-installed it, logged out, then uninstalled it and it continued. I don't want to restore my phone unless that's my only option. Please help me out it's getting quite annoying.

Edit: Phone is an iPhone X running 11.4

What do the notifications look like if the app isn't on the phone?

The regular notifications as if the app was still installed. I can click on them but it does nothing.

Update: I found a workaround and it was to just use the "offload app" option in storage settings. Crashed while doing it but just set up a test notification and it didn't show up on the phone. Weird.

Odd, the offload option shouldn't show up for a deleted/removed app--the app shouldn't even be there in storage settings or anywhere else.

Not sure if this addresses the issue, but I found that some apps wanted to update in the App Store, but I thought I’d deleted them from my phone. Turns out they were in iMessage apps. Took me awhile to figure that out.

That's a good place to segue, how the heck do I uninstall iMessage apps?

Go to iMessage, and you’ll see an app store icon. You’ll see a line of apps at the bottom of the screen. Swipe left, to ‘more...’. click on that, and you’ll get an edit screen.
[doublepost=1531419531][/doublepost]Meant to say, next to the iMessage window, App Store icon, click on it. Then the rest.

Thank you so much!

Yes I was able to turn off everything, thank you again.
[doublepost=1531421261][/doublepost]Okay so I’m still getting notifications. Here’s a screen cap of what I see when it comes in.

My pleasure. I appreciate the opportunity to help.
[doublepost=1531421784][/doublepost]Might try doing a hard reset, then check the iMessage App Store edit window again.

Check the iMessage App Store for what? Instagram was never in that list I was just trying to get rid of all the apps that show when I accidentally have that section pop up in my messages.

I've done the reset, time will tell if it works I'll have to wait for a notification to pop in.

Ah. Thought IG was on the list. Anyway, good luck.

I think Instagram is installed. To find it, swipe down from the home screen. It will show you where it is.

I did that and it began reinstalling the app when I clicked on it. I'm just going to restore this phone.
