I need an IPT for a single, simple use -- to have an attractive hand-held video device on which to show clients proofs of video clips that I am creating for them. Any functionality beyond the basic OS operation is fluff for me.

It seems obvious that I need a 16 Gig model over the 8 Gig but I also wonder if it would be smarter for me to buy one of the pre-MacWorld versions and NOT upgrade with the extra apps in 1.1.3.

Can anyone give me some quick idea as to how much storage is free with a fresh 16 Gig IPT? With and without the 1.1.3 upgrade?

    Thanks in advance!

There is only 14.82GB on the 16GB. The added apps don't take up that much more space.

Many thanks for the quick reply. Exactly what I needed.

It does have 16GB, iTunes and the iPod only states 14.82GB due to the way it calculates storage size.
