So, where I work we offer free wireless Internet. All you have to do is connect to one of many hotspots, then it will direct you to a page to accept the terms and conditions, then youre surfing from there.

I had a 1g which could connect rather easily every time I've tried, but my 2g says ""can't connect to that network". Signal strength is typically 1 of 2 bars. At my desk with the 1g it never had an issue, same place new touch and I cannot connect. It's rather important I get this working, as I use it as a PDA or sorts. I didn't anticipate this issue as the 1g I never had issues. People use laptops only feet away from me with the wifi.

I can connect to my wireless home network flawlessly.

I'm actually willing to go back to the 1g if the wireless receiver is stronger on that one (last resort).

Any suggestions?

Did you have to register your 1G? Some places make you register your MAC address in order to access the wifi. If it's free to the public, then you wouldn't...

Just a thought... maybe you forgot that you had to give your 1G over to someone in charge of network security or something.
