I compile wine on my leopard macbook and it runs fine if I run "wine /path/to/exe", but this is pretty cumbersome every time I want to run an app.

Is there anyway to set os x up to allow me to run an exe just by double clicking it from the finder?

Have you tried choosing wine as the default app for .exe files?

What, do you mean by right clicking the exe and choosing open with? The problem is that wine doesn't make a .app file to choose, it's all terminal stuff.

    Yeah, you can't do that.

The easiest way to open something in Wine (that I've found) is to type winefile.

Maybe we can try to write a script to do that?

Maybe something could be thrown together using Platypus. You could then set every EXE file to open in that launcher app. I don't have the time though. Almost time for school.

I just tried paltypus and it's a no-go. I set it to run /usr/local/bin/wine as a shell script and the text output said "Cannot execute script". Then again I've never used it before so I no doubt did something wrong...
