This is slightly OT but extremely relevant right now. We complain a lot about shipping companies but it's a modern miracle that we can get our devices from China in less than a week all on the same day.

Here's a depiction of what happens with carriers (with a focus on overnight shipping but still relevant to us.


I wrote "Carrier" and meant "Courier". It's early.
 
Shipping logistics is a fascinating and in many ways overwhelming field. The idea there is a box with an iPhone in it sitting in China right now that will be delivered to my relatively rural Texas address on Friday is something that a hundred years ago would have been considered science fiction.
 
I also think it's important we have the annual "Couriers are a miracle and we should take it easy on the complaining post". This coming from a guy who had their Apple Watch Series 0 "fall off the truck"
