Ghost effect.

I have something like a ghost effect on the right portion of the screen. It's not very noticable but if you look closer you can see it.
What causes this?
Does the warranty cover this?
Is there a way to remove it or do I have to go to the store?
If yes(I have to go to the store) how long would I have to be without my iMac.

I'm not sure if I totally get what you are saying. Is the screen just hazy, or do you suspect it is caused by dead pixels? My advice is: if there is a store near you, let a genius look at it. It seems it would be easier to diagnose in person then over the internet.
