Hello all
When I am on My Watch App on the iPhone, and I go to General/Usage it says 2.0 GB used and 10.2 available.
The very first item in the list of Apps is Music with 705 MB used. The only problem is there isn't any music on the watch. It's a brand new Series 4 44mm.
When I go to the Music section of My Watch it shows "Automatically Add" and then there are 4 playlists but I have them alll turned off and there is no way that I can see to get rid of them.
When I go to the Music App on my Watch, it verifies there is no music on the watch. So where is this 705 MB coming from?
It even stumped Apple Support. I've restarted the Watch and its still there.
Anyone have this problem or have a clue? I'd like to reclaim this space.
Thanks in advance.
Ty

Big deal and why is it a problem? Also why do you "need" to reclaim 0.7GB when you have over 10GB free that you will NEVER use up? You will NOT run out of space and if you do add music it will most likely fill this "used" music space.

First off it’s a “big deal” to me because the number of MBs keeps going up without me doing anything. Maybe I will use it up. I listen to tons of podcasts and music while working out or running without my phone. So that space can be better utilized.
Thanks for the not so useful reply.

When you open the "Music" app on your watch, have you tapped on "library" to see if there is something loaded on your watch. I say this because I show on the watch app on my iPhone 7 plus that I have 92 songs loaded in music on my watch (series 3). When I check on my watch music app, it shows 118 songs. That number had been going up and down for the past week. I did have "Heavy Rotation" selected under Automatically Add and I figured out some albums were added to my watch. I've since deselected that. I don't know if that helps but take a look.

It is still not an actual problem. Apple don't give you low level file access and ability to micro manage things. It is theire philosophy, that users should focus on their goal instead of spending time on tuning the system. While i had free subscription of apple music, I had still no control of what was actually played from the device or what was streamed (even with 8GB music local it still used data [LTE version]). I cancelled it Apple music, but haven't testet since. However Apple clearly want's handle space management on their own and blurry the lines about what is local and what is online.
