Does anyone know what causes the "ghost" star ratings in iTunes, and how to remove them?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that I sync more than one device, but I still can't figure out how to remove them.

Thanks.

Is this in the wrong forum? If so, can someone suggest which one to post in?

I think there used to be an iTunes forum, and either I'm blind, or it no longer exists. I figured since iTunes is a Mac App this question should go here!

I even deleted the songs from iTunes (careful not to throw them in the trash), and then added them back to the library, and the ghost stars still came back!

Sooooooo confused.

Thank you, Denmark! This looks like this describes the problem. It may in fact may be "album" ratings. I'll have to try this out when I get home.

Also, "clear stars"... hahaha, that is probably a better way to refer to them, than ghost stars. :D

Finally got to this, and yes, it was an album rating which resulted in ghost stars/clear stars.

(... I've been busy.)
