So recently I bought a new 13 mini, and almost immediately I noticed ghost touches. The phone occasionally knows what I’m going to type or press, and this can occur when my finger could be 1-2mm away from the screen.

I went to the Apple Store earlier on in the week and I couldn’t replicate the issue, but they replaced the screen of the phone and the diagnostics came back fine. It was still occurring immediately after so I booked another appointment at another store and the “Genius” essentially said I’m imagining it (in a passive aggressive manner of course).

I’ve used smart phones enough to know when I press the screen (and I can also see my finger not always touching the screen) so I’m wondering what’s happening? I tried another phone after using mine and it caused the same issue, but I don’t know if something about my phone (because I used it just before) could be causing my hands to be static? I can’t seem to find any reports of similar issues and I’m left baffled.

Maybe I just somehow produce more static electricity, but this was never an issue before… ?

Good to see I'm not alone.

I'm unsure what to do so I may try and capture the issue occurring somehow and show them.
