Hey, so I tried Genshin Impact on both the iPad Pro 2018 12.9’ and the new 12.9’ m1 iPad Pro 2021 and ran into some odd things..
Anyone else have a lower resolution on the new iPad vs the 2018 or 2020 ones?
This game is jaggy and blurry at max settings but isn’t on my old iPad Pro 2018 12.9

First image is zoomed in on new iPad, second is zoomed in on old iPad, its also just noticeable while playing in general it looks not sharp

As well as the extreme ghosting… but I guess this is normal.. not sure if apple can ever tweak it.

(ghosting is far more noticeable from and angle)

Genshin might need an update for M1 processor? I don't know but that's all I can think of. I have the 11" model and it looks good on that but i can't compare it to anything.

As for ghosting, does it go away if you limit the display to 60hz? It could just be the response time on the display causing overshooting (ghosting). On my PC monitor which is 144hz if I play a game at 140fps there is no ghosting but if i play a game at 60fps there will be overshooting. I can adjust this through an "overdrive" setting. I'm sure Apple could adjust the display but it's not gonna eliminate it completely. They will need to pick a good setting that suits most people and situations. For example, my monitor is set to "40" which is a good balance for playing between 60-140hz. Ghosting is just something that happens with high refresh rate displays. It might get better but if it annoys you then just limit it to 60hz.

The app will need to be optimized for the M1 chip.

Has to be this, some games are chewing through battery life like no tomorrow on my mini led iPad, compared to my 2018 3rd gen pro, hopefully these developers didn’t have to much fun over the weekend, they better start updating these apps soon. 👀

You’d think we’d have a iPad emoji by now, not like the iPad just came out last year, get your act together Tim Apple 🙄🤦‍♂️

Yeah loads of the gaming apps need updates to support the M1, some run worse than the previous Pro’s at the moment which is a shame.
