Hi Folks,
What ghosting re-imaging programs are there for Macs?
What issues do I have to look out for?

Can I use Disk Utility to write the image to an external hard drive?

Cheers!

I use Carbon Copy Cloner to make bit for bit, bootable clones of my hard drives for restoration reasons. What I have is a clean Leopard install, a Leopard install with all my apps installed (but nothing else) and finally one that is a total clone of my system as it is right now. I use CCC because it is fully Leopard compatible (as opposed to SuperDuper), but SuperDuper is more powerful.

Will this require that you reinstall apps if you have to re image a hard drive after a failure or upgrade, or will the apps be installed in the image and not require reinstallation?

Thanks for your help.

Tony

CCC does not make bit-for-bit clones (http://blog.plasticsfuture.org/2006/04/23/mac-backup-software-harmful/)
