GIF go to's

What applications do you use to make your gifs? Shrink? Freeware? I've used GIFfun for some time and an OS9 app, Gifmation for shrinking, but want some better quality renders coming out of PS and the like. I don't have After Effects but can Motion be tapped for gif use? Thanks, anyone.

I think Adobe Image Ready is the usual choice...

I think Adobe Image Ready is the usual choice...

I've been using PS since version 5. Interesting (to me, anyway) that I've just not looked in to ImageReady. Thanks for the reminder.
